It is a victory because today, President Obama, rejected an oil pipeline that would have ran from Keystone, all the way up to Canada. This would have been damaging, and destructive for the national park, but also, it would have been destructive for every habitat that it came into contact with - destroying wildlife, and nature. It could have also destroyed peoples homes, and their livelihoods, so, it is a good day for human rights, as well as animal rights, and environmental protection.
It is also a very good step in the right direction. It is a step to ensure that governments step up to the plate, in that the put their words into action, by protecting the environment, nature, wildlife, and reducing the effects of climate change. Moving away from using fossil fuels, is a key move to stop climate change, and the erosion of the planet.
