Humpback Whales are saving other animals from Orcas. The altruistic behavior are leaving scientists 'baffled'. However, there is nothing to be 'baffled' about.
Altruistic behavior has been observed in other non-human animals. Such as monkeys.
Perhaps there is a lesson here. In that instead of us viewing animals as different to ourselves, we start to see them more like ourselves. Because they do exhibit the same behaviors and emotions that we humans do.
Scientists have began to notice that when other animals are being hunted by Orcas, Humpback Whales when step in and defend the animals. And save them.

This behavior from Humpback Whales is not an isolated event. There have been many reports of this happening. therefore, the behavior from Humpback Whales seems to be widespread. And a deliberate act of altruistic behavior.
