It is a move aimed at reducing C02 emissions, by keeping a close eye the ecosystem. It is also a move set to protect the animals of the Great Barrier reef such as, fish, turtles, and sharks.
The robot is named Cotsbot. It is armed with an injection arm so that it can prevent coral loss. It will be patrolling the Great Barrier Reef for up to eight hours per day.
The move might come to be seen as controversial by animal rights actavists, as the lethal injection on the robot is set to inject starfish, who are responsible for 42% of coral loss, according to scientists.
