A survey was carried out by a BBC magazine called Gardeners World. The aim was to find out how well garden wildlife was doing.
The survey was conducted with almost two and a half thousand people taking part. The study is very alarming for Hedgehogs. It found that there was a 32% reduction in sights of the Hedgehog. Which only happened in the space of one year. |
The Hedgehog has been declining since the 1950s. There was around 55 million Hedgehogs in the wild in the 1950s, today there are fewer than 1 million Hedgehogs in the wild.
