Therefore, for a species to become Critically Endangered is exceptional.

1. Moutain Pygmy Possum
The Moutain Pygmy Possum is the mouse like animal you see in the picture above.
They are nocturnal animals
They can be found in Southern Australia, in Victoria.
2. Leadbeaters Possum
Another possum on the list. They are slightly larger that the Moutain Pygmy Possum.
However, they live in Southern Australia, like the Moutain Pygmy Possum.
3. Northern Hairy Nosed Wombat
The Northen Hairy Nosed Wombat is a very cute, teddy bear like creature.
They are not only one of the rarest mammals in Australia, but also, one of the rarest mammals in the world.
4. Southern Bent winged Bat
The Southern Bent winged bat it one of the rarest bats in the world.
Their numbers have declined dramatically since the 1990s
