These are not the first bushfires of the Australian summer season. Earlier in the month, bushfires spread across the state of Victoria, which saw many wild animals face the full brunt of the fires. Such as the Kangaroo below.
​Bushfires are wrecking havoc across Australia at the moment, which is damaging property, habitats, and because habitats are burning, there are likely to be many wild animals which are being killed because of these wildfires.

In early November, when the bushfires spread across Victoria, many wild animals suffered burns from the fires. Animals such as Kangaroos, and Koala Bears. Potentially hundreds of animals were wounded, and took in by shelters to protect them, and give them the medical care that they needed.
The same thing is likely to happen with the current Australian bushfires, hundreds of wild animals are likely to be injured, many more killed. It is too early to know the impact of the fires on wildlife, and how many animals will end up in shelters. Though, it is thought that farm animals are caught up in the fires, as well as wild animals.
