Asda has reportedly cut it's ties with the company Seaworld.
Seaworld is a business which uses marine wildlife, such as Orcas, for ''entertainment'' value. Seaworld sometimes claims that Seaworld is a park of ''conservation'', however, rather than breeding animals for the purpose of building their numbers, and realising them into the wild, Seaworld often focuses on using animals for shows to ''entertain'' an audiance. Therefore, Seaworlds intentions are debatable, and full of controvesy. It is due to this controvesy that the brand, and image of Seaworld has been declining immensley. It started with the documentary 'Blackfish' - which you can find on Netflix - the documentary shows how anmals such as Orcas have been stolen from the sea by Seaworld, in order to perform tricks, and shows at Seaworld. By Blackfish educating the public about Seaworlds actions, and mistreatment of animals, their profits, and interactions have declined a lot over the past year, alone. |
Asda, therefore, becomes the latest nail in the coffin, if it is true that they have cut ties with Seaworld. True, because PETA reports conflicting information on this matter. On one hand they say that Asda has ''cut ties with Seaworld'', on the other hand, it states that Asda still sells Seaworld trips on its Asda Travel website. They then go onto say that Asda has gone on to stop these trips to Seaworld.
But, if it is confirmed that Asda has cut ties with Seaworld, it would be great news, as it is another step closer for Seaworld to close.
